This is the day in my schedule that everything cooperates to allow me to do my blogging.  As luck would have it, I haven't encountered anything that has moved me to develop a blog post about it; writing is like that sometimes.  But as the next time the stars will be aligned is February 3rd, I don't want to just leave an old post up here for that long.  I do, however, have an amusing anecdote to fill the void:
I went in to work for a night shift last night, and our weekend dispatcher, Chris, had brought a copy of Beyond the Rails for me to sign.  It seems he had ordered the book, and when it arrived, his wife, who is also named Chris (Christine, actually), opened it.  Her first thought was reportedly, "What's this?  I didn't order a book."  But she started reading it, got hooked, and read it all the way through.  A week after it came, she showed it to him and said, "You ought to read this.  It's really good."  ...To which he replied, "I've been looking for this!"  The upshot is that she didn't believe he knew anyone who could write a book.  Having read my inscription, I'm guessing she does now...
          What a customer!
Okay, be back here on the 3rd, as I'll be presenting a new feature that I think independent authors are going to love, and want to take advantage of!
There.  Teasing.  Foreshadowing.  The creation of a curiosity that cannot be ignored.  Now that, my fellow indies, is how you create a blurb!
And that's 30 for tonight.  Play nice, look out for one another, and as always, get out there and live life like you mean it!
